Spring break in MexicoAlthough the economy is down this year, the need for a Spring Break stayed very high on students’ priority lists.  I did some research to find out the most popular spring break destinations, and this is what I found:

1. Jamaica

This destination tied for first with the Bahamas, but surpassed all other locations with flying colors.  Jamaica is a college student’s dream – warm weather, beautiful beaches, and a relaxed yet party-ready atmosphere.

 2. The Bahamas

The Bahamas tied with Jamaica for the number one spring break destination.  Just like Jamaica, the island scene is perfect for tanning and relaxing during the day, and dancing and drinking at night.

 3. Cancun, Mexico

Cancun has long been an ideal location for spring break.  Flights are relatively cheap from most big airports in the United States, and it’s popularity means college students from all over will arrive with the same party goals in mind.

 4. South Padre Island, Texas

South Padre Island is basically the cheaper version of a Cancun Spring break.  Since it is in the U.S, students can easily drive to the location.

 5. Acapulco, Mexico

Acapulco is another widely-visited beach for spring breaker vacationers of all ages.  The laid-back atmosphere of Mexico is popular among college students as well as their parents.

 6. Panama City, Fla.

Panama City is home to MTV and the ridiculousness of the MTV spring break parties.  This U.S. location is wildly popular among the college-age crowd.

 7. South Beach, Fla.

Florida’s beaches are a popular place for spring break, especially among students going to school on the East coast.  One of the more expensive locations, only the most serious spring breaker vacationers should attempt to keep up.

 8. The Dominican Republic

A beautiful island with white beaches and bright blue water, this destination is perfect for students and families alike.  Activities include cruises and Jeep island tours.

9. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

One of the most expensive spring break destinations, Cabo features luxury hotels, beaches, and restaurants.  It is a beautiful beachdestination for couples or families.

10. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

A great beach-side city, Puerto Vallarta features beaches, mountains, and parties.  Many hotel deals are available around spring break, and there are lots of activities available, such as mountain biking and parasailing.

Runners-up: Mazatlan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Playa del Carmen, Europe, Las Vegas, and the economically-friendly “stay-cation.”  With so many great options, a destination Spring break is available to children of all ages.
