It can be difficult to become acclimated to a new city as a stranger, and even harder if you identify as LGBTQ. This list of select contacts might prove to be beneficial when you need the support or friendship of like-minded and supportive individuals.

Tucson

Wingspan - They are considered the LGBTQ Community Center of Tucson and just recently suffered budget cuts that have forced them to move into a smaller space. They offer an anti-violence program and health outreach among other things. Also located in the same space is SAGA, or the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance which focuses on issues specifically felt in the transgender community, and Eon, which is the youth side of Wingspan. Hours for the Community Center are Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and hours for the Eon Youth Lounge at Monday-Friday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Call 520-624-1779 for more information or visit http://www.wingspan.org. Located at 430 E. Seventh St., Tucson, AZ 85705.

Bisbee

Bisbee Pride Inc. - Bisbee is well known for being little and weird, and now over Father's Day, it turns queer. Visit the website http://www.bisbeepride.com/ for more information on this yearly Pride event.

 Phoenix

Yuma

Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) Yuma - This group is the local chapter of a national group that helps promote gay rights and awareness about health issues. Foothills Blvd., Yuma, AZ 85367.  Call 928-580-9553 or visit http://community.pflag.org
