Spanish language Immersion Programs in Mexico-
Below are some of the immersion programs available to take part in when visiting almost anywhere in Mexico. All information can be found on each program's website, as well as places to stay.
1. El Quijote - Centered in Guanajuato, Mexico, this immersion program is taught through the University of Guanajuato. The four week course from June to July is $1,600 U.S., the monthly program offered from September to May is $1,750 U.S., and the semester long program, (Fall or Spring) is $5,500 U.S.
2. The Baden-Powell Institute - The BP Institute is located in Morelia, Michoacan. The program offers one-week study programs ranging from $389 U.S. to $625 U.S., as well as two-week programs ranging from $783 U.S. to $1,255 U.S.
3. Esperanza Morales - A personal tutor offering lessons in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Students of all experience levels can be tutored at $15 U.S. per hour. Follow her site, giving details on the city as well as her qualifications.
4. Habla Hispana Spanish School - Located in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. Tuition for the program ranges from one to four weeks, with an option for more time after the fourth week. Prices range from one week at $170 U.S. to four weeks at $560 U.S. with each week after that being $130 U.S. Residence fees for family housing are $26 U.S. per day for single occupancy.
5. ICC - Located in Oaxaca, Mexico. An intense program offering five hours of daily Spanish instruction and cultural activities. The full cost of the ICC Special Package, including housing, costs $450 U.S. per week, or $1800 U.S. per month. Without housing, the price drops to $250 U.S. per week, and $1000 U.S. per month.
6. Instituto Benjamin Franklin de Yucatan - Located in Merida, Mexico. 20 person classroom courses for four weeks cost $720 U.S. Follow the link for info on calendar dates and housing plans.
7. Playalingua del Caribe- Located in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. After an enrollment fee of $90 U.S, prices range for group classes of four to seven students. Prices are $340 U.S. with an option for one-hour private tutoring sessions at $28 U.S. per hour. After the fourth week, the price is $205 U.S. per week.
8. Vistas Intercultural Institute - Spanish learning and tours located in Oaxaca Mexico. The highlight package entitled “The Day of the Dead Celebrations in Oaxaca” goes from Oct. 28 through Nov. 5 and costs $1,350. Follow the link for package details and more info.
