Best Mexican Restaurants in Tucson

There are many places to visit in Tucson, Ariz. but there are also many amazing Mexican restaurants. This is a list of the top 10 Mexican restaurants in Tucson, and what they are known for along with where they are located.

 

1. Mi Nidito is known for being one of the best Mexican restaurants in Tucson, especially after Bill Clinton visited it and created his own plate which can be seen on "Man vs. Food," on the food network. The plate consists of one of everything on the menu from chimichangas to enchiladas, the plate has everything. The restaurant is located in s Tucson, it is very close to downtown Tucson. The restaurant usually has a 30 to 45 minute wait but it is definitely worth it. 

2. Guadalajara Grill is a great Mexican restaurant in Tucson, it is located on the east side along with central on Prince Rd. Both locations offer table made salsa with options to choose from mild to hot. The restaurant is known for pretty much every meal from the seafood to the authentic Mexican plates of food. The one that is most recommended are the seafood plates, along with the fajitas. Another plus for Guadalajara is the in house made tortillas, that are made right in front you when you walk in, corn and flour. This is definitely a great family restaurant and a great place for big groups. 

3. El Minuto Cafe is a small Mexican restaurant located downtown. The restaurant has great chips and salsa and very reasonable priced plates. The restaurant has a small but quaint bar and is very fun for lunch or small group setting dinners. 

4. El Charro Cafe has a great happy hour and is also located in downtown Tucson. El Charro is the nation's oldest Mexican restaurant since 1922. The restaurant has continued to be past down from generation to generation and continues to impress. The restaurant is known for their award winning salsa picante and their guacamole recipe. 

5. Teresa's Mosaic Cafe has the best view of the city of all the Mexican restaurants in Tucson, it sits on a hill on the west side of Tucson not far from the University of Arizona Campus. The restaurant is known for their juevos rancheros and their chimichangas, but definitely their juevos rancheros. The restaurant is casual with decent prices and is definitely a cute place for a date night or small gathering of friends. 

6. Cafe Poca Cosa is located downtown Tucson and has some amazing margaritas to offer. The restaurant has decent prices and is very nice on the inside with a modern touch. Cafe Poca Cosa is known for their menu changing twice daily in order to keep things new and exciting and is brought to your table when you order. Definiltey a must go to while in Tucson if you want a unique experience. 

7. BK's Carne Asada and Hot Dogs  is a great place if you want an amazing taco. This place is definitely a recommendation amongst locals and doesnt look to appealing from the outside or even look like a taco joint for that matter, but has some of the best tacos in Tucson. Definitely a place to get a great quick bite to eat. 

8. Blanco Tacos and Tequilas is located in La Encantada mall in the Foothills in Tucson. The restaurant has a quaint bar, and great outdoor patio seating. Blanco specializes in their cheese crisps and salsas that they offer when you first sit down. The restaurant is known for their fresh ingredients and for visually presenting their fresh ingredients before you walk into the restaurant.
