Resources for Refugees in Tucson

International Rescue Committee (IRC)

The IRC provides opportunities for refugees to thrive in America. Each year, thousands of refugees are invited by the U.S. government to seek safety and freedom.  Forced to flee conflict or persecution, many have survived for years against incredible odds. They step off the plane with next to nothing but their dignity, hope and determination.  In Tucson and many other regional offices across the country, the IRC helps them rebuild their lives.

Tucson International Alliance of Refugee Communities (TIARC)

Tucson International  Alliance of Refugee Communities, Inc. (TIARC) is a Mutual Assistance Association (MAA).
Our mission is to promote the integration and development of refugee/immigrant communities and mutual assistance associations (MAAs) in our  community.

Noor Women's Association

Noor was founded twelve years ago by a group of volunteers who wanted to help refugee families adjust to life in the United States. We are an interfaith group, both in our membership and in the refugee families whom we serve. We find out about these families from one of the three agencies who bring refugees to Tucson. The purpose of the Noor Women's Association is to assist the neediest refugees to make the transition to life in the United States—with emphasis on widows and single parents. Our number one priority is widows and other single mothers.

Tucson Refugee Ministry

Tucson Refugee Ministry was established in 2006 to build bridges between the Church and the refugees of Tucson, many of whom are Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu. We partner with the refugee resettlement agencies to help facilitate practical, tangible ways that Christians can love and serve refugees in the name of Jesus.

Iskashitaa Refugee Harvesting Network

We empower refugees by creating opportunities to use their knowledge and skills in helping their families and the Tucson community. This allows them to better integrate while gaining life skills.

Catholic Social Services

Refugee Assistance & Immigration Services (RAIS) provides a bridge for refugees (individuals who have had to flee their countries of origin due to the tragedies of persecution and war) from their former life experiences to the new skills required for success in the United States.  The program assists clients in obtaining a lifestyle that has sustainable financial support and in which the family's basic needs are fully met on a long-term basis.  RAIS offers a wide range of bilingual and bicultural services including case management, life skills orientation and job readiness classes.

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW) Refugee & Immigration Services Division is dedicated to helping refugees establish new lives in Arizona.  LSS-SW maintains offices in Phoenix and Tucson that provide both refugee resettlement services and immigration services.
