Mexican soccer has grown in strength within the last few decades. The sport is well respected and played all over the world. Mexican soccer has always been known for producing quality players on their national team. Here, you can see all of the famous Mexico born soccer players.

Antonio Carbajal

Carbajal was the first player to ever participate in 5 World Cups with his national team. He was born on June 7, 1929 in Mexico City.

 

Claudio Suarez

He is considered one of the best Mexican defenders. Suarez has only ever played for 4 teams, UNAM Pumas between 1989-1996, Chivas de Guadalajara between 1996-1999, UANL Tigres between 1999-2005 and Chivas USA in 2006. He currently holds the record for international caps with the Mexican national team.  He was born on December 17, 1968 in Texcoco.

 

Hugo Sanchez

He was one of the first Mexico soccer players to play in Europe. He played for Real Madrid during 1985-1992. After retirement from playing, Sanchez is the manager and coach of the Mexican national squad. He was born on July 11, 1958 in Mexico City.

 

Jared Borgetti

He played for the Mexican league Santos Laguna for seven years. Currently he plays for Cruz Azul. He was born August 14, 1973 in Culiacancito, Sinaloa.

 

Rafael Marquez

He is one of the most significant players of the Spanish team FC Barcelona. He earned the nickname of “Handyman” because he has the ability to play as a central or right defender and defensive midfielder. Currently he is the captain of the Mexican national squad and is to be considered the country’s best players.  He was born February 13, 1979 in Zamora, Michoacan.
