St. Andrew's Children's Clinic

St. Andrew's Children's Clinic occurs the first Thursday of every month besides July. The clinic is located in Nogales at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church . The clinic is set up to help children with all sorts of medical needs at no cost. The children are able to make appointments to see the optometrist, get hearing aids, physical therapy, routine check ups, orthopedics and prosthetics.
Let's Roll: A Moving Story
St. Andrew's Children's Clinic recently added a donation drive to their organization. Marcela Bracamonte de Arce and her two children, Raul and Andrea, are all deaf. Raul and Andrea's grandmother, who is not deaf, "was their communication to the world, their mentor and tutor," said Lizette Gamas, audiology assistant. Their children's grandmother recently passed away and her death has devastated the family.
At the clinic, two bikes (a boy's and a girl's bike) were donated to the organization, and Janis Wolfe Gasch and her associates thought Raul and Andrea were the perfect fit for the bikes.

Getting Personal
My experience at St. Andrew's Children's Clinic was an eye opener. I had never seen so many children who needed medical attention or who had never seen a doctor before but were able to get free help from the volunteer doctors at the clinic. The doctors have been volunteering for many years. The optometrist who was there has been volunteering at the clinic for more than 10 years, and the audiologist has been working at the clinic for almost 10 years.

St Andrew's Video
To truly understand some stories sometimes you have to see them. This was my attempt to capture the human interaction and atmosphere at St. Andrew's Children's Clinic in Nogales, Ariz. More than any other story I've ever covered, this content presented itself in a very artistic, incredibly gentle and undeniably humane fashion. I hope my video does the same. Enjoy!
